Church Workday, October 12
Help us get the church grounds ready for our Fall Festival! The Property Team will be heading up a church workday for yard work and cleaning. No matter what your skill level you can help!
What to Bring
- Gloves
- Shovel
- Rake
- Wheelbarrow/Wagon
- Hedge Trimmer/Pole Saw
- Pressure Washer
- Chain Saw
You're Are Needed
Volunteers keep our church looking great. A small group of people show up every week to volunteer their time to do most of this work. These folks do an amazing job but can’t do it on their own. We hold workdays a couple times a year to tackle some big tasks.
These tasks would be too big to do without a big group of workers. We need you to come and chip in. You don’t have to be an expert landscaper. All you need is to be willing to help. Many hands make light work.
Come join us at the workday and help us keep our church grounds looking great!
You Will Be Blessed
When you help you will experience the joy of serving others. You’ll also experience the joy of serving God. It really is true that it is better to give than to receive. We experience a type of joy and fulfillment in giving to others and serving God that can’t be found any other way.
Jesus confused his disciples in John 4 when they thought he had already eaten. They wondered where he had gotten his food from. “‘My food,’ said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.”
We believe that as you serve God at the church workday or in other ways that you will be fed spiritually.
You Will Have Fun
Help at the workday because you’ll have fun. When you work together with your brothers and sisters at Haven you can count on having a good time. From getting to know each other more deeply to joking around you can count on having fun.
If you are great at yard work (like Pastor Ernie) you may get to enjoy teaching others. If you are terrible at yard work (like Josh) you may get to enjoy learning something new.
This will be a good time for church members of all ages. We hope to see you at the church work day!
