Churches Joining Together in Unity
Our nation is divided politically, racially, economically. Even our churches can be marked by division. However, in Christ we can experience true unity.
All churches in Conyers/Rockdale county area are invited to join together in a walk for unity Saturday, April 17 at 10 am. The walk will be at the Rockdale River Trail which begins at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit on Hwy 212.
This is a great opportunity to enjoy some fresh air and unity together as brothers in sisters in Christ. We know that our unity in Christ is far greater than any differences we may have.

A Message from Gene Hardy on How This Started
My wife Kay and I exercise 5 days (M-F) a week at ProActive Rehab in McDonough. We have been doing that for 4 years. She does pool therapy on Tue/Thu and Wellness M/W/F. I do Wellness and walk every day.
I pray when I walk and was asking God how I could help our church and community by walking. He said start a Community Walking Ministry. Before COVID-19 our church had a vibrant Community Out-Reach program. We would meet at church one Saturday every month at 10am pray, load up in cars and visit neighbors door to door. We dressed in specially designed T-shirts and were equipped with free Bibles (even in Spanish), church brochures and salvation tracts.
When COVID hit all that shut down. When God asked me to start the Community Walking Ministry, I ask Him how it would work. He said walk on your church campus with other church members, advertise it, do it on a regular basis and leave the rest up to me. So with much prayer, on Tuesday February 2nd2021 we started our ministry. So every Tue/Thu we meet, pray, take a picture and walk 2 miles. We have an Early Learning Center (ECL) for Kindergarten thru 2nd grade so that restricts some of the area we can walk in but we still have plenty of room for a 1/3 mile loop. We walk on our campus so we can we seen by our community and from the highway, hoping that people driving by will stop and ask why we are walking. We want to be a witness to our community and the passersby hoping they will stop, meet us and eventually join us. Our motto is Ephesians 6:10
“Finally, be strong (and walk) in the Lord and in the strength of His might”.
We only miss our walking routine when our Ladies “Salt and Light” ministry meets the 3rd Thursday of each month. We are very dedicated. We have walked in misting rain and howling winds with 29 degree wind chill factor. Now we want to share our walking ministry by inviting our community and other churches to join us in a “Walk in Unity” event.
