Ash Wednesday Options for Parents and Kids
Ash Wednesday falls on February 14, and we will be holding an Ash Wednesday service from 6:45 to 7:30. Parents are invited to join us for a service with music, scripture, and ashes as we start the season of Lent, and the journey to Easter.Â
Since some children have enjoyed participating in our Ash Wednesday service in the past, we want to offer an opportunity for kids to receive ashes prior to the Valentine’s party. Children may come to the sanctuary between 6:30 and 6:45 PM to receive ashes in the shape of a cross on their forehead or hand. Although these ashes are not standard Valentine’s decorations, they are a wonderful reminder of just how great Jesus’ love is for us.
