A Word from Ernie
November Newsletter
Well, the holiday season is upon us and it appears as though Covid is going to make another appearance. Or maybe I should say, it will prevent us from a usual appearance.
This is the first year we will NOT have our annual Christmas Concert. I mean, right now we don’t even have a choir, so it only makes sense, right? In the interest of being safe it cannot happen, BUT we do have a wonderful alternative for this year you can read about in another article. Let’s keep thinking outside the box and sharing the love of Jesus.
Reopening Update
We’ve fully opened back up for activities and worship while still maintaining extra precautions to help keep Haven safe and continue to offer online alternatives.
- In-person Sunday School at 9 AM and Worship at 10 AM.
- Wednesday nights in person and on Zoom at 6:45 PM.
- Safety measures for all Haven activities: wearing masks, hand sanitizer and washing hands, and maintaining at least 6 feet distance between family units.
- We will continue to offer online options for those who can’t join us in person for Sunday worship and Wednesday prayer meeting.
Church Conference
Our next church conference will be November 11 at 6:45 PM. We will receive an update from the Financial Team and hear about the 2021 budget from the Budget Team. There will also be an update on our Ministry Team positions. We will vote on both of these items at the end of the meeting. The conference will held in person as well as offered on Zoom for those who can’t join us in person.
Advent & Christmas
Carols and Cheer
Let’s Celebrate Jesus’ Birth! Gather round the fire as we experience the cheer of Christmas through music and food. The Haven Fellowship team is hosting …
Digital Christmas Musical
December 16 // Come experience the Christmas story sung beautifully. This will be a digital experience listening (and singing along) with a professionally recorded version of Breath of Heaven a musical Haven hosted a few years ago
Christmas Eve Candlelight Service
December 24 // Join us for Haven’s Christmas Eve Candlelight service as we prepare for Christmas through music, prayer, and lighting of candles to celebrate the birth of Christ, the light that shines in the darkness.
Hanging of the Green
November 20 // We will be “Hanging the Green” on Sunday following worship. Lunch will be provided! Join us as we decorate the church for Christmas.
Operation Christmas Child
It’s time to pack a shoebox to be sent to children around the world through Operation Christmas Child. Shoeboxes are available in the Church Foyer along with the brochures explaining how to pack a shoebox, the label to mark your box, and the envelope for your contribution.
There is a change this year in how to send your gift of $9.00 per box for shipping and other project costs. Samaritan’s Purse has asked that the contribution be made online or a check be sent to Samaritan’s Purse in the postage paid envelope found in the brochure.
We have set a goal of 100 boxes from Haven! We believe this goal is reachable—even for 2020 and this very unusual year. So . . . pack a shoebox—or two—or three with small toys and other gifts, and return them to Haven by Sunday, November 22. Let’s work hard to reach Haven’s goal. We can do it!
Christmas Cards

We encourage you to mail your Christmas cards that we’d traditionally put in the mailboxes at church. It’s especially important this year to remember those who we don’t see at church. Help spread the gift of joy & love to those who need it most. Contact us if you need an updated church directory.
Poinsettias

Poinsettia plants are available for $8.50 each and can be given in honor of or in memory of someone special in your life. Place your order online or pick up an order form in the church lobby. The deadline to order is November 15th.
Holiday Schedule at Haven
There will be no Wednesday evening services on 11/25, 12/23 and 12/30 due to the holidays.
The church office will be closed 11/26-27 for Thanksgiving, 12/24-25 for Christmas and 1/1 for New Year. In case of an emergency contact Pastor Ernie at 404-414-8781 or Josh Gribble at 229-454-4354.
